TechArt Porsche 911 Turbo S Brings the Boost

The latest evolution of the Porsche 911 Turbo (based on the 991 platform) is wacky-fast, especially in 560 horsepower Turbo S guise. But the Porsche whisperers at TechArt aren’t satisfied with wacky-fast, which is why they’ve created, among other things, a power kit for the new 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S. The electronic wizardry contained therein adds 59 horsepower and 96 lb.-ft of torque to the 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six, for a grand total of 619 horsepower and 612 lb.-ft (649 lb.-ft with overboost activated). TechArt says engine-in-the-trunk terrors so equipped will zip to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and top out at 204 mph. There are more thrilling rides, yes, but you’ll probably have to enlist with the Navy or Air Force to take them.
