Hamann BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is a Rich Chocolate Fashion Statement

When Mercedes-Benz introduced the CLS in 2004, it opened the floodgates for other manufacturers to jump in and offer their “own four-door coupes.” Sister brands Volkswagen and Audi have gone after slices of the pie with the CC and A7 ( the not-for-America A5 Sportback), respectively, and BMW has just recently thrown its hat into the ring with the 6 Series Gran Coupe. While we certainly question the need for a longer-wheelbase, more-door version of BMW’s big coupe, we don’t have any trouble noticing how freakin’ great it looks.

Of course, as pretty as it is, it isn’t very flashy or mean looking. Even the yet-to-be-officially-revealed M6 Gran Coupe will likely look fairly tame if its two-door and convertible stablemates are any indication. However, it looks like there will be no shortage of cosmetic customization options will be available to spice up the stock Bigger 6er’s lines, including the package from Hamann seen here.

The lower front fascia incorporates bigger air inlets and a pair of trendy LED running lights. The carbon fiber hood features functional vents and aggressive sculpting. Rocker panel extensions help make the ride height appear lower than it is. And in back, the trunk is sandwiched by a beefy spoiler and a lower, bolder bumper with vents and an integrated diffuser featuring cutouts for four exhaust tips.

For rolling stock, Hamann fits four 21″ wheels and performance tires. Additionally, the ride height is reduced by 1.2″ thanks to lowering springs. The sum of all these upgrades? A 6 Series Gran Coupe that retains the stock model’s handsome silhouette, but with extra punch when you get down to the details.

And speaking of details, the interior gets plenty of premium ones. Hamann offers items like piano black dash trim, anodized aluminum pedals, personalized floormats, and various leather and Alcantarra upholstery options. If you can imagine it, chances are Hamann will do it to the cabin of your Gran Coupe…for a price, of course.

Speaking of price, Hamann isn’t letting on just how much all the stuff you see on this matte brown example will cost you. It’s also worth noting that Hamann isn’t talking performance upgrades just yet, though with a powerful 3.0L turbocharged straight six and 4.4L twin-turbo V8 and a choice of rear- or all-wheel-drive available from the factory, extra oomph isn’t desperately needed. Especially when you’ve got this much visual presence.
