Arden Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a Gritty Kitty
The Jaguar F-Type Coupe might very well be the pants-tightening-est car being built today. Its styling contains some callbacks to the three series of E-Type coupes that preceded it, but the overall package still manages to look up-to-date. As for the stuff underneath, well…do we really have to say anything more than “550 horsepower supercharged V8?” Of course not.
But the German Jag specialists at Arden have never been able to leave well enough alone, which is why they’ve cooked up a collection of subtle upgrades for Coventry’s latest fixed-roof sports car. It’s still a work-in-progress, but these renderings give a good idea of what to expect: A variety of accent colors for the trim, new grille inserts and a bold front splitter, side skirts and rear lip spoiler are all on the table. You can even get a retro “Leaper” hood ornament though, if you ask us, a stand-up hood ornament on this car is about as appropriate as a . And speaking of wheels and related paraphernalia, those swanky 21” alloys (available in both gloss black and satin polished) are definitely a go; just be ready to part with about $10,800 for a set ( roughly $790 for the lowering springs to achieve the stance seen here).
Now if it’s more power you’re after, Arden has addressed that area, as well. The “P1” power kit adds 39 horsepower and 37 lb.-ft of torque to any F-Type engine (i.e. both flavors of 3.0L supercharged V6 and both flavors of 5.0L supercharged V8), but it will set you back nearly $8,000 (less if you aren’t subject to the European VAT). There are bound to be more extreme upgrade parts for the F-Type Coupe coming down the pike from Arden and other tuners, but we happen to think the stuff mentioned here is a fine start.
