Aeroboat S6 is Ridiculously Sublime

Three years ago British boat design house Claydon Reeves revealed a stunning speedboat called Aeroboat. With a fusion of modern and retro styling and power from a Rolls-Royce Merlin airplane engine, the Aeroboat was and is a monumentally enticing package. Now the Aeroboat brand is expanding, with the initial model taking the name SV12, and the larger, more relaxed model you see here, the S6.

The Aeroboat S6, measuring 65 feet long, features a distinctive tapering teardrop cockpit with “Wingtip Stairs” either side of it leading down to the swim platform (with retractable “Aerostairs”), a starboard garage for a tender up to 12.5” in length (or wave runners, kayaks, etc.), and a choice of an open cockpit, a removable Bimini roof or a fixed hardtop. Below deck, you’ll find a big galley, full-size day head and shower, owners lounge that converts into the owners cabin, and an additional cabin for crew or guests. Power comes from a pair of MTU 10V 2000 M96L engines operated by Rolls-Royce Marine controls and driving Rolls-Royce Marine DP (dynamic positioning) thrusters. Aeroboat says the S6 will slice across the deep at speeds above 45 knots, though we think most of these boats will spend most of their time wafting across the waves at a more dignified pace, affording those aboard more time to enjoy the good life.
